Harmonic Pendulum

DoNow: What are the time period equations for a an object orbiting a mass, a mass oscillating on a spring and a mass swinging as a pendulum? If you were to graph the period of a mass oscillating on a spring, what would you use for the x and y axis? Explain. (notes)

AIM: I will be able to describe the oscillation of a pendulum and identify the parameters that affect the period of a pendulum. I will be able to describe how to make a linear graph that describes a pendulum using a time period equation.

I will have notes for the DoNow tomorrow morning.

I made slight changes in The Wild Oscillations HW to clarify wording and made the length of the ramp on f and g so the problem works. The posted version reflects the change that are not on the class handout.
